Natural covering:

For visiting mares to any of our stallions, please book in advance as:

All natural coverings will take place at Brackenspa Stud between May and June 2022

Stallions:

All of our stallions hold the relevant health tests which are taken annually..

Mares:

And all mares covered at the stud must also have a clean bill of health. (see below)

Swabs:

           All mares must have a veterinary certificate stating that the mare has been swab-tested and is free from CEM and is fit for breeding.    

      

A negative (blood) serology report for EVA prior to arrival at the Stud.

And with current risk levels being high, all mares MUST have a Negative Strangles blood test done no older than 7 days before arrival at the stud!

 

Mares:

All mares are to be halter-broken, suitably trained and well handled. Whilst at the Stud they will receive every possible care, attention, and supervision, but no responsibility or liability can be taken for any accident, damage, injury, illness, disease or loss to any horse or person.

Brackenspa Stud reserves the right to consult a veterinary surgeon in the event of an emergency, accident, or illness, at the owner’s expense without prior notification to the owner. All mares are served at their owner’s risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, damage or loss caused through trying or serving any mare. Any problem mares will be twitched or sedated. We advise that broodmares are insured by the owner.

Mares with poor conformation or known hereditary diseases may not be accepted. We reserve the right to refuse any mare arriving in poor condition or deemed unfit for breeding.

 

Keep of mares:

Visiting mares will have the benefit of pasture available with hay or haylage top-up. The Stud has the right to feed or stable any horse as they consider most beneficial to the care of the horse and/or foal and the owners will be charged accordingly.

Shoes:

All mares are to have been recently attended by the farrier and to have all shoes removed.

 

Worming:

All mares must be up to date with worming before arrival at the stud.

Payment can be made via PayPal/Bank Transfer/Cash.

The only thing left to do then is arrange with the Stud for delivery of your mare giving as much notice as possible.
